Today i did my first dash and interior swap!

I am the proud owner of a ‘99 E46 328CI.
I’ve owned the car for 3 months and i honestly love it to death, it is a beast!
But one thing has always Bothered me….

GREY INTERIOR…
When i went to take a look at the car i honestly was like…
But it has grey interior :’(

(Leather seats, electric, heated and i am complaining)

So i went on an adventure!
Since my car doesn’t have a hitch (Which is really funny because i am Dutch and i should have one to tow a caravan ;) )
i borrow my previous BMW E36 which does has a hitch and went touring through the NL and a bit of germany to collect parts!

This E36 316I is now owned by a friend of mine.
the 1.6 did a good job, the trailer worked as a parachute. though i managed to get a 4kmh speeding ticket, which is €40 here!

It was a long weekend so i decided i could use my dads workshop (He does damage repair and such)
So i have basicly all the tools i needed! (suprisingly not a lot of tools were used!)

Luckily the old carpet didn’t had to come out in one piece so i could cut it away wherever it was needed. I was not patient enough and it was gross anyway!

The trim was pretty much faded so i painted them in a color my rims will be too.

Personally i think the black leather with white trim, in combination with a topaz blue e46 would look great with the chrome trim on the outside and white wheels!

Though i do not have black leather seats and door panels yet, i am loving the result!

This is my car as it currently is. these rims will be sold and replaced by the ones which next to the trim.
(Look my old Golf 3 in the background, a 1.6 too, but i just missed my bmw too much!)

As probably any project car guy, still have big to do list.

Thank you for reading! Drive safely!

PS: i have never done a big project like this. i replaced a starter and stuff but never done anything like this before. It was pretty straight forward, not complicated at all but it is just A LOT of work. i have spend about 10 ish hours to get it done with all the proper tools. I didn’t end up swearing and actually really enjoyed doing this project instead of sitting behind my computer looking at cars.

Proper! Mag ik vragen hoeveel de onderdelen hebben gekost? Zou hetzelfde willen doen met mijn E46 (als de prijs redelijk is) :)
