The Dodge Challenger Demon is Already Being Flipped for Profit

Anticipation for the Dodge Challenger Demon has been growing for a while. We saw it in The Fate of the Furious without even realizing it. Teaser after teaser was dropped, with performance figures enough to please Lucifer. Then recently, we received word on pricing.

With no options, the car will cost about $85,000 USD. That isn’t bad considering some of its specs: 0-60 MPH in 2.3 seconds, ¼ mile in as low as 9.65 seconds, 840bhp, the list goes on. With some of those figures, perhaps it is a surprise to some that the car does not cost three times as much.

However, in one instance, it does.

The owner of this beautiful blue Demon is attempting to sell his/hers for $250,000 USD. Interestingly, he/she gives an explanation:

“Before anyone jumps down my throat saying "Your crazy for the price your asking" just hear me out with the facts. They just released the MSRP and fully loaded it is just under $100,000. Now with that being said, that is the price before tax and before the inevitable huge dealer markup IF you can even get one at all!... This ridiculous machine is for the true drag racers and true car guys at heart looking to purchase a future investment that will only go up in value.”

To an extent, the seller knows what he/she is talking about (ignoring grammar). Surely we will see some dealer markups, and quantities will be limited. To speculate on value, however, is a gamble. At least the seller knows that the price needs justification. However, digging deeper into the listing’s description reveals this:

“Upon purchase we will discuss exactly how you would like to order your car if you purchase before the order date.”

Translate: ‘I’m not even selling a car; I’m only selling one allocation.’ The seller hasn’t even waited for deliveries to officially begin, yet is somewhat trying to flip the car! Now this isn’t too unusual, as it can happen with low-volume, special edition supercars. But to do this on eBay brings other questions. A big question is if the seller actually has a confirmed slot, or if he/she simply placed a not-too-meaningful deposit on one at a dealership that isn’t even confirmed to receive one.

What do you guys think about this? Is it way too early to see the car being flipped on the market?

That’s a bit ridiculous now.
Are all the allocations sold?

This sounds ridiculous but given the hype about the car, it’s understandable.

I hate how people are doing this buying a car just to sell it to make money take this person for example why does he need the extra $165,000 dodge built this car to experience 1.8g, 140mph in less than 10 seconds and 0-60 in 2.3 seconds
