If BMW's M4 DTM Contender Looks Half As Dangerous As This, Expect Bloodshed

BMW has sent Audi a message: it wants its DTM crown back. This is an unofficial rendering of what the company’s newly-confirmed DTM-spec M4 might look like.

That’s right, BMW is going racing with a red-hot version of the recently-unveiled M4 concept that’s divided the BMW cognoscenti with its new name. And although we know nothing about the engine or aero technology yet, the M4 will be out for blood.

Beemer won the 2012 DTM championship at the first attempt with the M3 DTM, but this year the factory Audi has more or less kicked the men from Munich square in the gentleman potatoes.

We’ll have to wait months for any official shots, but hats off to Jon Sibal for whetting our appetite with this cheeky rendering. The 2014 DTM season should be awesome.
