Is it just me that gets slightly irritated by people talking about drifting in rallying? I can’t quite put my finger on why it annoys me but basically if you talk to people in rallying they barely talk about drifting, it’s just a slide - either trying to carry speed or get out of trouble
Drifting in rally is not the same. I can drift on snow and ice, not tarmac.
#8 is an awkward thing. You see, rally drivers admit… They will intentionally drive into snow banks in order to tell if they are soft enough not to damage the car. Then, they will add this information to the pace notes to use as a “backup system” to not crash and damage the car, while still safely pushing at 10/10ths. Rally drivers rarely ever drive at 10/10ths… Only sometimes…
