Why I love Car Throttle: My #CTtestimony

With the huge influx of new users I thought I would write about my time on CT.

With the huge influx of new users I thought I would write about my time on CT. #CTstory #CTrules #CTvalues

I started my account on CT in November of 2014 while Engineering Explained was doing an AMA. I asked him my question and then shut off the site for a few months. I kept watching the YouTube videos and following the Facebook page but never went on Car Throttle.

It wasn’t until March of 2015 that I clicked on an article from CT’s Facebook that took me to the website. I read the article and then started looking around the site and I liked what I saw.

A few days after that I posted my first meme and it did pretty well. I decided that I could do well at making memes so I started making more memes. I kept on doing this until and getting more and more upvotes.

Then on May 6th, 2015 something tragic happened.

Momo passed away

Momo was a rich kid my age from Dubai. He owned a bunch of Supercars and had plenty of money. But he wasn’t you typical jerk rich kid. He was humble and truly cared about the other car guys. He wrote a long post explaining his life story that told how he made his money, and how he believed that every CTzen could follow their dreams as well. (You can find Momo’s whole story here - http://www.mediafire.com/download/9bfzgqd77sibij3/Momo's+Story.pdf - He posted this in comments before we could make long posts.)

Sadly he had a heart condition and passed away due to complications from the surgery. Before he went into surgery he wrote,

“I also wanted to say that the way the online car community is, is just absolutely amazing. I’ve only been on here a couple of days and I finally realize what true car guys are like. Nice, kind and hilarious, I have never laugh so hard in my life about funny posts and comments, you guys do not say 1 negative thing about anyone, you’re so friendly and kind heated. I also want to thank CT for creating a website because it brings all cart guys together into one place, no matter what colour you are, which country you’re from or which religion you have…” (Full comment here - https://www.carthrottle.com/post/y2sHDO/ )

After his passing CT united like never before. We united to fulfill Momo’s legacy. This lasted for about 2 months and then things started to deteriorate. People started to disrespect others and things started to go south. It was at this time I stopped making memes, for the most part, and resolved to keep CT the way that Momo remembered it. Since then I have put all my efforts into making CT a better place. Keeping it a loving community for car peoples of all types.

There have been bad times and good times. Through it all I have worked to keep the CTvalue of respect at the fore. I want to keep this community nice, kind and hilarious. I want the posts to be quality and not popular. I want to teach and learn more then I want to laugh. Laughing has its place but to much of a good thing is bad.

I love CT for the community. But the community will run smoothly on its own. Each individual CTzen must do his part to keep CT a friendly community for all people. New users, you have to do your part as well. Talk to the older CTzens, learn from them, they will teach you the CTrules and CTvalues. Then use what you learn to make CT even better.

P.S. I challenge all of the older CTzens to share your CTtestimony. Tag it #CTtestimony and post it in the Meet and Greet community. We must be mentors to the new users to help them learn the meaning of a car guy. #CTstaff, this extends to you as well. Alex, Gabz, Ethan, Jake, Adnan and all the rest, share your story, you visions and your goals.

Together we will make CT even better. Here is to the long, respectable future of Car Throttle.
