We Can't Decide Which Of These SEMA Kia Stinger GTs We Like Most

Kia has brought two modified Stinger GTs to SEMA, and they're rather different from one another

Would sir like his Stinger GT to be subtly modified, or an outlandish feast for the eyes? At the SEMA show this year, Kia is giving us the choice of both.

First off, we have the Stinger GT Wide Body. The work of West Coast Customs, it’s been dropped by 35mm at the front and 30mm at the rear onto suitably spangly 21-inch Keen fordged wheels. Wider arches cover the fatter wheels, and there’s a carbonfibre aero kit finishing off proceedings nicely.

At the other corner of Kia’s stand is the Stinger GT Federation. Yes, it doesn’t exactly fly under the radar with its custom orange point job, but the modifications are much more subtle here.

On the Federation you’ll find “body accent” parts on the rear spoiler, diffuser and bonnet vents from Air Design USA, a quad exhaust from Borla, and 20-inch TSW wheels. The suspension has been upgraded with Eibach springs and beefier anti-roll bars, while under the bonnet you’ll find a new K&N cold air intake.

The changes make the Stinger look just that little bit meaner, while also liberating an extra 15bhp from the 3.3-litre V6.

Which do you prefer: the Wide Body, or the Federation?

If this car was added into GTA V, it would fit in perfectly with some of the car design styles already in the game

I’m wondering how many TV screens they managed to put in the car

In its size class? No. The equivalent BMW 540i (as an example) is £10,000 more and doesn’t come with a Slip Differential.

I like the Widebody a lot but I think I would rather drive the Federation.

Honestly? They should sell the Federation as the top trim level. Call it the GTRS to sit nicely above the current range topper (the GTS V6).
