Watch An Ariel Atom Race A Snowmobile On Ice
With the help of some tyre studs, an Ariel Atom takes on a snowmobile at Alton Bay's ice runway in New Hampshire, hitting 100mph in the process
The Atom used for this race is packing Honda’s K24 2.4-litre VTEC engine, good for 227bhp, and is sporting tyre screws to aid traction. The Polaris 800 Rush Pro-S (catchy name, no?) snowmobile on the other hand has 158bhp on tap from a 795cc two-cylinder, two-stroke engine, but it only has 187kg to haul about against the Atom’s 596kg. Which would you rather take out for an icy hoon?
