The Lancia Stratos was one of the hot topics in the automotive world last month. The mystery started when a test car mysteriously was piloted around a Fiat test track, bearing an uncanny resemblance to the Lancia Stratos.
Many speculated (Including this writer) that it could be a Fiat effort to provide Lancia with a high-profile halo vehicle in order for a rebranding. It would be much in the same fashion as the 8C Comepetizione for Alfa Romeo.
Alas though, it was not to be. Rather it was a very expensive project undertaken by businessman Michael Stoschek, head of the fifth largest auto parts supplier in Germany. Supposedly there is the possibility of a limited production run of the "New Stratos."
That is something we could definitely welcome, and with all the interest, likely a feasible endeavor. A video showing the car has surfaced, and the original design of the Stratos is still looking as good as ever, all these years later. Check it out below.
