Toyota Suspends Sales Of Top Models
Meltdown? The situation with Toyota's unintended acceleration problems seems to be getting larger and larger. Most recently, the company announced it would be adding engine override software to the lineup "by the end of the year."

Now, nearly two weeks later, comes the breaking news about a halt in sales of Toyota models built in North America as part of the recall of nearly 2.3 million vehicles.
Toyota says the suspension is "confined" to the eight vehicles, which include the:
- 2009-2010 RAV4
- 2009-2010 Corolla
- 2009-2010 Matrix
- 2005-2010 Avalon
- Certain 2007-2010 Camry models
- 2010 Highlander
- 2007-2010 Tundra
Reportedly, no Scion or Lexus models are affected by the sales suspension, as well as the Camry Hybrid and Highlander Hybrid. Coinciding with the sales suspension of those models, following production lines for the week of February 1 are being shut down "to assess and coordinate activities."
Facilities affected include plants in Canada, Kentucky, Indiana and Texas. We'll keep the commentary on this one to a minimum - hopefully for the safety of everyone who owns and plans to purchase these vehicles, the situation will get resolved soon.
