Top Gear America Is Now A Thing, And Its Hosts Have Been Revealed
Top Gear USA was always the ugly cousin to the main, then Clarkson-fronted version of the motoring show. Its ratings were never anywhere near as good as the original show, and it never went down as well with fans or critics. After its sixth series, it was as good as cancelled, but now, it’s back. Sort of.
BBC America this week announced it’s to launch Top Gear America, with none of the TG USA presenters - Adam Ferrara, Tanner Foust, and Rutledge Wood - in the new line-up. Instead, it’ll be hosted by William Fichtner of all people - the actor who’s turned up in everything from The Dark Knight to Independence Day: Resurgence.
Joining him will be long time Top Gear magazine writer and former Fifth Gear presenter Tom Ford, and Top Fuel drag racing champion Antron Brown.
The first, eight episode series will kick off on BBC America “later this year”. Will you be watching?

Was I the only one to actually like the old Top Gear USA? With Tanner, Adam and Rut? Would have loved to see them host the show again. But it’s BBC, so it was obvious that they would sack the great hosts and try again with some new ones. I’m curious which one of these three will give up first. And hopefully Tanner Run and Adam will start their own car-related show…
I quite like it too. I watched as many episodes as I could on YouTube simply because it showed the american market and their cars

I couldn’t stand Rutledge, but that was just me, I love watched one or two episodes that had content I liked such as the Alaska truck test

Never knew Bill Fichtner was a car guy. His presence really makes me look forward to this show for some reason. I love him as an actor, and who could forget Ken Rosenberg?
Tom Ford was pretty good on Fifth Gear too, and his writing in TG magazine was always enjoyable. Don’t know the drag race guy though. But it seems like this could be a fun show regardless.
Rut, Adam and Tanner got better with time, feel for those guys way to harsh on them better lineup then the one recently announced.
