Top 10 Silly Car Prangs And Serious Crashes On YouTube

Do you love videos that induce laughter, tears and sudden fright? No, you're not just an emotional being, we're all just like you!

Do you love videos that induce laughter, tears and sudden fright? No, you're not just an emotional being, we're all just like you! Thanks to the magic of YouTube and people whipping their cameras out in the right place at the right time, we've been able to put together 10 clips consisting of morons behind-the-wheel, serious bad luck and very expensive damage. Here goes...

10. Oh bollards! There goes my no claims...

Here's a light-hearted classic to start you off. The people of Manchester (also known as 'Manky Mancs') were so fed up of cars driving through the bus-only and commercial vehicle zone in the city centre, that they decided to install intelligent bollards to protect the route for authorised vehicles. It turned out the bloody bollards were such a useful time saving short-cut that many punters were trying their luck to get through. The result? Many a hilarious consequence.

9. It's a cold, cold world

A driver's worst nightmare is ice. Especially black ice. This freak of nature is a near invisible hazard which can only be avoided if you decide not to drive at all or the grit truck decides to spread its load on your street (lol). This particular street must have been off the beaten path, as it seems to have not been gritted for centuries. This unfortunately gave one Fiesta driver and their passenger a truly 'crap-in-your-pants' experience.

8. Attack of the 2x4s

When I say 2x4s I don't mean cars like the Range Rover Evoque or Nissan Qashqai. I literally mean bits of 2x4 wood. It's another dreaded scenario which can happen anywhere and to anyone. This particular, unfortunate soul finds herself driving behind two lorries and becomes the victim when one runs over a plank of wood. The results are splinter-inducing...

7. For Mother Russia!

What's better than one crash? No crashes? No, how about many crashes! The scene is a tunnel in Russia which 'unfortunately' has a leaky roof creating some nice patches of black ice on the road. My personal favourite out of this lot is the bus bending it like Beckham.

6. Tool in a Gallardo

One way of predicting when an accident is due to happen right in front of your face is when someone in a car such as a Lamborghini Gallardo essentially tells everyone around him, 'Watch this!' This particular twat driver decided to give the Lambo a couple of revs before turning left with the revs dialed up. Lamborghini owners will now that high revs + lots of power = slide. Slow round the corners and fast down the straights are the rules, rookie!

5. It's a green hell for this 4x4

There's one place on Earth where car crashes are common and expected. Welcome to the Nurburgring. Anyone can go round this track in any car they wish for a small fee. A couple of unusual observations in this clip include a bright blue pick-up truck of some sort driving smoothly and an old Honda CRV which has a 'non-'Ring' chassis. This isn't going to end well.

4. Partying hard with a Bentley

Bentleys are traditionally used to chauffeur the elite in luxurious comfort to predefined destinations such as a posh bar or palatial residence in style and with speed. One place you'll not often find them is in transporting party goers to a festival. Nor is it designed for fools to do doughnuts in the campsite resulting in some expensive damage.

3. Smooth-flying criminal

Seriously shocking crash number one in our countdown is this from the United States. This footage was taken from a police car trying to stop a 19 year old criminal. After skidding off down the central reservation he flips into the air and the car is cut in half by the oncoming bridge. Amazingly, he survived this accident.

2.Warning: never run a red light in a Ferrari

Our second most frightening accident on this countdown is one you might find upsetting. Don't say we didn't warn you! Filmed from a taxi in Singapore, we witness a Ferrari wiping out a fellow cabbie at a crossroad junction at something like 150mph. Sadly, the drivers of both cars died at the scene.

1.What does that button do?

Here it is, the number one clip combining all three themes. It's an expensive Aston Martin Rapide with not one, but two lunatics inside and shows the result of turning the traction control off. These guys must be made of money or have a decent lawyer on retainer as they're not even shocked or crying their eyes out after smashing this beauty. Potential Rapide owners will be glad to know they'll be safe in a crash like that yet this car has annoyingly saved these two idiots.

If you come across a video which will smash any of these ten clips (no pun intended) then drop the links to them below or on Facebook or Twitter.
