There's Almost Nothing In This AMG A45 Vs Golf R Acceleration Comparison
With a 70bhp advantage, you’d think the Mercedes-AMG A45 would be the clear winner in this acceleration comparison, but no: the VW Golf R is never far behind.
Admittedly the performance gap between these two has narrowed recently, with the Golf R’s slight power bump and new seven-speed DSG twin-clutch transmission dropping the 0-62mph by three tenths to 4.6 seconds. Plus, those optional Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s might well help off the line. But still, the A45 is still supposed to be four tenths faster on the benchmark sprint, and it’s also worth remembering it’s nearly £8000 more expensive than a Golf R with a DSG ‘box…

Take the 8k you save, get the following: Turboback exhaust, stage 2 tune, upgraded intercooler, CAI, and some decently priced 3 pieces + tires. Then take the remaining 1k and pay off your insurance for 6 months or get a cage setup haha

golf may be quick but it’s also boring and lacks the drama of the amg.
that continues onto interior where the amg feels like a special car, the golf is just like any other optioned up golf.

the answer is always the golf, golf is the way to go.
Or go neither and get a Golf GTI Clubsport, and pummel both in the real world and track not a straight line
