We've already seen the Subaru Legacy sedan, which was closely related to the concept that proceeded it. After unveiling the Outback, the company took the wraps of the standard wagon in the stable, dubbed Legacy Touring Wagon. Unfortunately, it looks this one isn't headed for the United States though. Anyone that wants a wagon is stuck with the Outback.
Subaru cut the standard Legacy wagon for the 2008 model year and the expected to continue the Legacy Sedan/Outback Wagon duo for the new generation. The Legacy Touring Wagon is much better looking than the Outback Wagon too. I actually like the Legacy Touring wagon; the Outback? Ehh, not so much.
The Legacy Touring Wagon will be available in the Japanese market with either a 2.5-liter naturally-aspirated boxer four-cylinder or a turbocharged variant. As for transmission options, the choices are either a CVT or in turbocharged engines, a five-speed automatic or six-speed manual. We'll see whether Subaru decides to sell this one in the United States. It would be a shame for them not to.
