Red Bull's Striking RB11 Upstages Launches From Mercedes And Williams
All eyes were on the Red Bull RB11 on Sunday morning, with the reveal of the team’s new car and striking testing livery.
Images of the RB11 and its new camouflage livery were released as the car headed out of the pit lane at the Jerez circuit to start Red Bull’s winter testing programme.
The Renault-powered machine will be driven by Daniel Ricciardo and Daniil Kvyat. The team hopes to close the gap to 2014 champions Mercedes this season and beat last year’s tally of three race wins.
Before the RB11 took to the track, Mercedes formally launched its 2015 car. After releasing images and video footage from the W06 Hybrid’s shakedown at Silverstone, Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg officially uncovered their car for the up-coming season in the pit lane on Sunday morning.
The Williams FW37 was then launched just a few minutes later, with Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas unveiling their 2015 machine in front of gathered media and photographers.
The first F1 2015 pre-season test takes place from the 1-4 February. Lotus had been set to launch the E23 Hybrid on Sunday but the car’s debut has been delayed. Meanwhile Force India will be absent from the entire test, with the VJM08 being launched at the second event later this month.
