The Puritalia 427 Is A 605hp Supercharged V8 Homage To American 60s Muscle
Supercar start ups come and go all the time, so we tend not to pay too much attention, but this Puritalia 427 has piqued our interest. That’s largely because it actually looks quite pretty, rather than the angular mess that usually appears from the sheds of these budget sports car designers.
Surprise, surprise, this car gets a V8, but rather than the usual LS model, this one packs a 5.0-litre Ford unit. There are two variations; a naturally aspirated version, which makes 439bhp, and a full-fat 597bhp supercharged performance model. Power goes through the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission, while grabby Brembo brake discs provide the stopping power.
Whether this car actually takes off remains to be seen, but its classic styling and rumbly V8 make it a quirky alternative for those who’d like a retro car without the mechanical hassle.
