Interesting, in my opinion that's the best view out of the 4 pictures that have been released. Polarizing to say the least! Look at that huge grille and boxy, bulging fenders. The headlights look kind of similar to the Escalade in my opinion. It's styled to look a lot bigger and more macho then it is.
I'll have to know more to be sure, but I'm not sure I like it. Promises to be a very polarizing design. It's amazing they could get a way with this when it comes to aerodynamics! But it looks it must not effect things to much; the Terrain in 4-cylinder guise is supposed to get 30 MPG on the highway.
If you've think you've seen that rear end before, you have. Toyota Sienna taillights? Yes. It looks a bit minivan-like because of that. While they often say vehicles like this are love-it-or-hate it, I've managed to find the middle ground. It's OK, I'm reserving full judgement for when I can see it in person though.
Two engine options are available; a 2.4-liter direct injected 4-cylinder making 182 horsepower and a 3.0L (I like the small displacement!) making 264 horsepower. The 4-cylinder offers noice-cancellation technology and an "Eco" button that helps achieve better fuel economy by remapping throttle responses, shift patterns and torque converter lockup speed. It's not clear whether or not the 30 MPG number was with the button activated.
GM says the rack-mounted electric power steering system saves nearly 11 miles per tank of gas on the 4-cylinder. Not bad!
So, what do you think about GMC's new Terrain? Love it or hate it? Stay tuned for more details like interior pictures, GM hasn't released them yet.
