New Bugatti At Frankfurt?

I posted recently about a future Bugatti sedan model coming this September commemorating Bugatti's 100th Anniversary. A report out by website 4WheelsNews furthers that with news that we could possibly new Bugatti Royale sedan as soon at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September.

The report says the new Bugatti sedan will be dubbed Royale Type 41 after the classic sedan of the 30's. The Type 41 was a car conceived by founder Ettore Bugatti. He had planned to build 25 models of the high end sedan, to be sold to royalty around the world. But a little thing called the Great Depression hit and wrecked his plans.

Due to the severe economic crisis, only 6 models of the sedan were sold. The interesting thing about this is that the report claims Bugatti will sell only 6 of the new model again, in honor of the original. They would be available only for the most "important clients of the manufacturer".

Something about that strikes me as not credible though. Bugatti is looking for a replacement model to sell after the Veyron, but they will only build 6 units? Doesn't seem like the best plan for a sustainable future to me.

I think Bugatti should introduce a new line similar to the Type 12 Streamliner, in both 2-door GT and 4-Door sedan forms. That's what I would do.

It's just not a feasible business proposition with all the development costs that are involved. There might be a special edition run of 6 models or something, but I highly doubt there will be an new model range with numbers like that . Who knows though? I've (no doubt) been wrong before. We'll know for sure in September at the Frankfurt Auto Show.
