Novitec Does It Again: Ferrari F430 Calavera Gets Tattoos?

No one can leave well enough alone those days. Take the Ferrari F430.  It's an absolutely sublime mid-engine rocketship filled with the latest and greatest of Ferrari's technology, enough horsepower to arm a small nation, and looks that pull stares from full line-of-site.  It's amazing.  But Novitec, who's known for not leaving well enough alone - we featured their supercharged Maserati GranTurismo Tridente coupe last week - can't leave the F430 alone.

In fact, neither can Ferrari.  The F430 has reached the end of it's rope - or to put it more brightly, it's hit the end of it's production lifespan.  So Novitec Rosso  has decided to send it off with a bang, teaming up with Unique Sportscars to produce a graphically powerful (to put it one way) and absurdly powerful limited-edition F430.

On the power end of things (which is what we care about!), Novitec adds twin superchargers and supporting mods to the tune of 707bhp, which is the same as their TuNero model.  This horsepower infusion leads to impressive performance: 0-60 in 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 216mph seems sufficient these days.

Graphically, well...  the F430's gone rebel on the parents and gotten some goofy flaming-skull tattoos.  Mind you, they're good-looking skull tattoos, but this is a Ferrari, and I'm not sure how I feel about this.  The great thing about cars?  You're welcome to think what you want about it.  I think it's poorly conceived and well executed.  Scary-looking, for sure.  But it looks ready for Gumball 3000 duty, which isn't a good thing.

There's also a Novitec body kit with integrated LED running lamps on the front splitter, but hey - that's not so bad.  Novitec does nice bodywork.

One thing's for sure - they're only making 11 of them, so if this is just what you always wanted, now's the time to be placing your order.
