Mercedes-Benz SLK Photos Leak Thanks to Promo Video

Mercedes-Benz is busy debuting a new design language across the lineup. Recent models have moved away from the dual-oval headlight design that featured so prominently on Mercedes cars in the past decade.

Instead there is a bolder and more brash design with a huge pointed star adorning the front-end. The redesigned CLS is one of the first cars to really show off the new look for Mercedes passenger cars. Spy shots have come out of the new SLK, but thanks to Carscoop new leak of Mercedes French promotional film has revealed everything.

The photographs are a bit grainy but we can get a good idea of what the new SLK looks like. While previous SLKs have seemed to fade in the background, the updated car goes for a bold and aggressive look.

We have to say it seems a bit out-of-character for the SLK. The huge front end doesn't seem to fit the car's small size and that makes for some awkward angles. We'll have to see more pictures to judge for sure though.

Out back, there are new taillights vaguely reminiscent of a combination between the C-Class and SLS AMG. What's more, the interior of the SLK apes the SLS AMG as well, adopting that car's low, cockpit-like feel and retro-style circular vents.

The new SLK adds Pre-Safe, the Mercedes 7-speed automatic and recent new technologies for convertibles like the Air Scarf cabin warming system. As Mercedes hasn't dropped the official press release yet, details about the new engine lineup are still unknown. Stay tuned for more details.
