Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate Photos

An important leak from September's Frankfurt International Auto Show has already appeared-  the highly anticipated Saab 9-5. Now comes the second leak, this time about the new Mercedes E-Class Estate (or what we call in America a wagon).

An important leak from September's Frankfurt International Auto Show has already appeared-  the highly anticipated Saab 9-5. Now comes the second leak, this time about the new Mercedes E-Class Estate (or what we call in America a wagon). While teasers are effective in building up excitement about a new model, leaks are not.

I hate it when all of the important launches from the show are already leaked ahead of time - where's the fun in that? Not that an E-Class Estate model would be one of those highly anticipated cars, but still.....

Regardless of being highly anticipated though, the new E-Class Estate is an important model for Mercedes nonetheless. Redesigned E-Class sedan and coupe models have already been launched, and now Mercedes is following with a new Estate model. While wagons aren't popular in the United States, there definitely is a strong market for them overseas.

That fact probably explains why only one trim level of the E-Class Estate model will be coming to our shores. The model coming will be the E350 4Matic, powered by Mercedes' 3.5-liter V6 and coupled to an all-wheel-drive system. Another interesting bit is that the E350 will come in Sport guise only, offering self-leveling rear suspension as standard.

For families looking for fuel economy than a crossover without sacrificing the luxury of a Mercedes, the Estate could be appealing. Interested? The E350 4Matic Estate will be making it's way to the United States as a 2011 model.  No word yet on pricing - but we do know the planned engine and trim level lineup at least for the United States.
