Jaguar's Leaked 2014 Project 7 Could Be Heading For The Road

A new version of the Jaguar Special Operations division's F-Type-based concept is here, and a couple of new parts point towards an eventual road-going version

If you’re unfamiliar with the original Project 7, it’s essentially a Jaguar F-Type with the folding fabric roof ditched, and a gorgeous D-Type style buttress behind the driver’s head. It’s just a one-off prototype, but we want nothing more than for this car to go into production - even if it’s just a short run.

Images of a new Project 7 have been leaked ahead of the car’s Goodwood reveal this weekend, and it’s giving us hope that we could indeed be seeing a road-going version somewhere down the line.

Other than the obvious change - the green paintwork - there are two details the more eagle-eyed may spot: the original concept’s slender mirrors are now larger, and there’s a hefty rollover hoop protecting the passenger’s bonce. Since both of these items are all about function over form, this new 7 could well be pointing towards a production version. We can only hope.

No details have been revealed for the new Project 7 just yet, but we’re assuming it’ll be packing the same 542bhp supercharged 5.0-litre V8 as last year’s car.

We’ll update you with all the official details once they land.
