Jaguar XF Estate In the Works
With the XF, Jaguar has been experiencing something of a sales renaissance in markets across the globe. In the United Kingdom, Jaguar's home market, estates (what we call in America wagons) are big sellers.

Kind of like crossovers are here in America, they are essential to a brand's success. If Jaguar is to be operating at it's full potential, it's a must for them to get in on that market with an estate variant of the XF.
Even Cadillac has saw fit to develop a wagon model for the CTS (and a beautiful one at that) along with a coupe to go along with the sedan. Given Jaguar's overseas presence is much greater than Cadillac, it only makes having one all that more important.
For enthusiasts, the biggest story though would have to the possibility of a XF-R Estate. It hasn't been confirmed (and we don't know it would be coming to the U.S even if it was) but such a car would be a perfect competitor to a CTS-V wagon. Cadillac and Jaguar would be able to compete head to head.
Fellow competitors Audi and BMW have performance variants of their wagons, but they aren't sold in the United States. Perhaps that would change if they saw Cadillac and Jaguar offering such models. Who knows? A new segment of insane luxury performance wagons could be created in the United States fairly quickly. Anyhow, Autocar says to expect the XF Estate in 2012, along with the car' mid-cycle enhancement. Too bad they couldn't introduce it any sooner!
