Rather than bury footage of himself changing songs on a phone while riding, bike vlogger Walterrific posted it up on YouTube as a friendly warning to others
After filming himself crashing while using a mobile phone, you’d have forgiven bike vlogger Walterrific for burying the footage forever. However, he posted this video as a sort a mea culpa, with the hope of dissuading others from this kind of dangerous multitasking.

I am a long time subscriber of his. But this? And the subsequent “don’t think I did not pay for my mistake” line in the description of his video? Sorry, he was lucky he got a free attention getter and didn’t pay for it with his life… or worse…. another life not his own. There are legions out there that pay for the mistakes phone users in or on vehicles make out there. Mistakes such as this one. Phones and traffic do not mix unless you have the correct mindset. If that ram mount makes a return in future vlogs he proves he did not learn a thing.
And he posted it because crashes sell. And his supporters won’t see anything else but a crash and just wish him well. I am fully expecting my comment on his channel to get fanboy hate. But I really don’t care. Crash due to a phone and you are a massive tool. Crash into someone due to a phone? I hope they take you for all you’re worth.
Isn’t that the point of him coming out and saying that he was being stupid and for others to learn from his mistake?
Really with how his phone was mounted it was the same as reseting the trip computer. The really issue is the phone was locked/frozen causing the lengthened time requireming his attention. The fact that it was a phone is irrelevent, allowing anything on your guages/dash to take your attention for more than one or 2 seconds is what everyone needs to take from this. Phones for sure but also anything else.
