Here it is, the new Jaguar XF Sportbrake. Well, it’s the roof of the XF Sportbrake - we’ll have to wait a little while until we see the rest, but it does show the car will get a rather nice full-length panoramic roof.

Jaguar released the picture along with an official announcement, confirming that an estate-ified XF is indeed on the way, due to be revealed this summer. To tie in with the company’s partnership with Wimbledon (because lifestyle), Jaguar also had a large silhouette of the car drawn out on the pristine grass of the All England Club’s Centre Court. Almost makes you want to crack out the Pimms and strawberries right now.

The engine line-up will be carried over from the saloon, which means a mix of four-cylinder Ingenium diesel and petrol units, plus a V6 turbodiesel and supercharged petrol V6 topping the range in the two ‘S’ models. And a range-topping, supercharged V8 ‘SVR’? Nothing’s confirmed yet for saloon or Sportbrake, but we’re holding out hope on one appearing eventually…
