Here's What Goes Into Repairing A $30,000 Earth Mover Tyre

Repairing a giant and exceedingly expensive earth mover tyre takes a lot of work, as this fascinating video proves!

If your tyre’s punctured, having it repaired isn’t a particularly time consuming nor complicated process. And if the worst comes to it, replacing the boot isn’t that expensive.

But what if the tyre in question - like this one from a giant earth mover - is as big as a car, and costs $30,000 on its own? We’re talking hours of scooping, buffing and patching, all of which is condensed into the weirdly fascinating video above.

Why use such a soft compound on the outside? Isn’t it more likely to puncture again? Will it harden over time?

Been doing that on a regular basis, only tad smaller tires, but still big enough for 3 guys to barely push it.
