Here's How You Jump Start A Car Using Nothing But A Jack And Some Rope
Stuck somewhere without jump leads and have a flat battery? Here's an unconventional solution...
This method is something we’ve seen before, and what’s happening is fairly straight forward - the guy here is essentially simulating a ‘bump start’ with a stationary car. Just like in a bump start, the movement of the driven wheel turns the engine over, creating enough compression for it to fire.
There are a few things to bear in mind, though. It’ll only work with a manual gearbox, and if you’re only jacking up one side, you’re going to want a car with an open differential. It’s also - for various and hopefully obvious reasons - not that safe, so you’re probably better off just waiting for recovery. Unless you’re stuck in some Bear Grylls in the desert drinking his own urine kind of situation.

Now That’s a proper MANUAL car!
Antitheft lug nuts? On these wheels?
Good luck with LSD :D
I think if I did that in mine the jack wouldn’t secure the car because the older TDI engines when they start the whole car shakes
Well it does sorta make sense
Can i make it with rwd LSD BMW? 😂 Still that 3.0 is not that ez to start even with a good battery and starter when its -20 outside
Awesome! Now I just need the car to try it on. Lol
or you can do it like my uncle did
trow it on a downhill and try not to crash into anything
(he crashed)
