Good News: James May's 1984 Porsche 911 Is Up For Grabs

Are you a James May fan? Do you like a spotless Porsche? Then we have good news, as Mayâs gorgeous 1984 Porsche 911 Carrera is set to go up for auction with Bonhams at the Goodwood Festival of Speed later this month.
You may well have seen the car before, as it made appearances in an episode of âJames Mayâs Toy Storiesâ and in the brilliant âJames drives to workâ Top Gear online series.

The now former Top Gear presenter purchased the car in 2007 for ÂŁ15,250. He claims it is the âbest car he has ever boughtâ and also describes it as a âgoodâun.â
Itâs powered by a 3.2-litre flat-six engine with 231bhp, which will get you from 0-60mph in 5.4 seconds and on to a top speed of 152mph.

The car has been driven by Mayâs father for the last four years, but he recently decided he was âgetting on a bit to be seen in a retro stockbrokerâs carâ. Also, Captain Slowâs mother didnât like it, for whatever reason.

It has 55,000 miles on the clock, is in the condition that you would expect from any car-obsessed human being and is going under the hammer at the Bonhams Goodwood Festival of Speed auction with an estimate of ÂŁ28,000 - 34,000 (actually quite a comparable price to a non-celebrity-owned 911 Carrera of a similar vintage).
