542bhp. 0-62mph in 3.9 seconds. A top speed of 186mph. These figures - belonging to the all-wheel drive Jaguar F-Type R - should be enough to satisfy even the most power mad. But for the mentalists who always want more, the British company has just the thing up its sleeve: the F-Type SVR.

It’s been spotted undergoing testing at the Nurburgring, making some rather loud noises in the process. It’s all-wheel drive, sports carbon ceramic brakes, is expected to feature an overhauled chassis, and be lighter than the F-Type R.

The big question mark is power. Most of the rumours circulating right now suggest an output knocking on the door of 600bhp. However, Autocar is reporting a more modest increase which would bump the 5.0-litre supercharged V8 up to 567bhp, the same output as the Project 7, leaving the door open for an even more extreme F to arrive later with a power figure closer to the magic 600 mark.

Whoever’s right, this will be one bonkers F-Type.
