Bond Vs Baddies: The Cars
10. Goldfinger's Rolls Royce Phantom III
If you thought two-tone paint jobs are a recent fad, you'd be wrong. It's been around for decades! Here's Auric Goldfinger's Phantom series III with a 7.3-litre V12 in a colour scheme Wiz Khalifa would approve of.
9. Bond's BMW Z8
Making a brief appearance at the end of The World Is Not Enough, this V8 powered BMW Z8 was later chopped in half by helicopter-mounted saws. Exactly 5703 Z8s were built and there was even an Alpina version in 2002.
8. Sanchez's Maserati Biturbo
This Maserati was an ideal car for Franz Sanchez in Licence To Kill ; plenty of room to transport Bond in the back, a good sized boot for rockets, plus a twin-turbo V6 for swift getaways. A good reputation wasn't on its side, however, as the Biturbo was crowned 'worst car of 1984' by Time magazine.
7. Tiffany Case's Ford Mustang Mach 1
I know, not strictly Bond's car but this 'Stang belonged to Bond girl Tiffany Case. 007 used it to help him and Case get away in Las Vegas on two wheels as you can see. Despite the name, this Mustang was not capable of breaking the sound barrier.
6. Alfa Romeo 159
The Alfa 159 is one of the few affordable cars that'll make you drool. If you want to fool your friends into thinking you're an undercover Italian cop/Mafia member there is a nice selection of engines. Included was the gorgeous 3.2-litre V6, which was the only version that could keep up with Bond's DBS.
5. Bond's BMW 750iL
If you thought today's 7 Series was loaded with gadgets, it has nothing on this particular E38. For instance, the current 7 Series can't be controlled by your Ericsson mobile, nor will it electrocute anyone that touches it. Here, it's being returned to Avis like a boss!
4. Scaramanga's AMC Matador
Go further back in time and you'll find out that one modification you could get for your AMC Matador was an aviation pack! It was used to kidnap Mary Goodnight on the way from Bangkok to a secret island in the China Sea.
3. Bond's Lotus Esprit S1
Just a few years later, another cunning optional extra appeared. The submarine pack (which if available on a Porsche would cost you a billion pounds at least) did help Bond hide from a helicopter. Another cool gadget included 'anti-aircraft missiles'.
2. Zao's Jaguar XKR
Flipping Bond's mighty Aston Martin Vanquish was Zao's equally matched Jaguar XKR convertible. A big gatling gun on the back, mortars in the boot, a row of machine guns in the grille and missiles in the doors were standard fitment. Imagine how insane a Lamborghini version of this would be...
1. Bond's Aston Martin DB5
It's only fair to pick one Aston Martin for this countdown so here is the best of the lot. First seen in Goldfinger, the Silver Birch is one of the most famous cars ever made and will make a welcome return to Skyfall on Friday. Great job, Bond for keeping it safe all this time. The DB5 has made six appearances, the last one being when he won it off Dimitrios in a poker game in Casino Royale.
If your favourite Bond or baddies' car isn't in the list, too bad. Our decision is final. However, you can complain down below but be advised, your comment will self destruct in 3, 2...
