This Beautiful Tree Tunnel Will Make You Wish You Lived In California
This huge fallen tree was too big to move, so engineers just cut a tunnel through it
Tunnels usually only interest us if they have a car thrashing through them. This one in California's Sequoia National Park, however, deserves our attention too.
In 1937, a colossal 84-metre tall, 6.4-metre wide sequoia tree fell over, completely blocking one of the park's roads. Moving such a hefty tree would have been an immensely difficult task, so instead of doing that, a tunnel was cut through the trunk, which allows cars to pass through even to this day.
