An All-Electric Cupra Concept Is Coming With A Funky Steering Wheel And Many LEDs
Seat’s Cupra brand hasn’t had the most explosive start since being spun off as a standalone entity. It’s one vehicle thus far is the by-the-numbers Cupra Ateca SUV, built using a bunch of very familiar VW Group bits and met with a fairly lukewarm reception.
It needs some headline-grabbing metal, which is where its new concept might just help. We don’t know what it’s called just yet, but we are told the latest not a Seat will be all-electric. It’s the Cupra brand’s first electric road vehicle, following the battery-powered eRacer concept which - as the name implies - was built for the track.
Cupra has teased the car via this interior shot, which shows a whole lot of LED lights and a strangely-shaped steering wheel, complete with Audi R8-like starter and drive mode buttons. Just behind that wheel is a big LCD screen which forms the instrument cluster.
Beyond that, all we have to go on is a promise of “sculptured exterior lines” which will match the radical interior. We’ll have to wait until the online reveal on 2 September to see the rest.
After that, it’ll be revealed publically at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
