ABT Does Audi A5 Convertible For German Brewery

Audi tuners and racers ABT have done a one off custom for Radeberger Pilsner, a German beer brewer. Yeah, I know, sometimes the jokes just write themselves, don't they? I'll let the Car Throttle faithful provide their own (extra bonus points for any MADD references you can come up with), but it is sort of interesting to see what a dedicated tuner can do as a bespoke PR effort.

ABT did this ride as a one off promotional vehicle for an outfit called Radeberger Pilsner. They would seem to be a German beer maker, but I'm a little bit hazy on that end of things (just how many breweries are there in Germany? 50,000? 75,000?), but hey, why not? After all there's no reason that someone like Chip Foose or Joe Iacono wouldn't do up a custom hot rod for Budweiser if they asked.

Anyway, the A5 cabrio in question is all done up in Radeberger's traditional black and gold color scheme (always classy). ABT gave it a two-tone body kit, alloy wheels that are also black and gold. ABT also added and logos, and if that two-tone isn't eye-catching enough, there's also a red leather interior with the Radeberger name embroidered on the headrests and the floor mats. (Did I use the term classy already?)

ABT gave the back seat passengers a pair of LCD screens mounted on the back of the front headrests, and the people up front get a drink cooler located under the center armrest.

Under the hood, ABT dropped in a tweaked version of Audi's 2.0-liter TFSI that has undergone a series of upgrades. Power is bumped up from 180HP to 275HP. According to the tuners, the A5 cabrio can scoot from zero to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds and will top out at a plenty respectable maximum speed of 271 km/h or 169 mph. ABT also had a go at the ride and handling, improving the brakes and suspension with unspecified upgrades.

It would seem that the one-off ABT Radeberger Audi A5 Cabrio special will be raffled off in Germany " ... sometime before the end of the year." That seems odd. It would have been perfect to hold the raffle during Oktoberfest. Just don't let the winners drive it home directly from the event.
