Boasting a truly impressive attention to aesthetic detail, apart from the fact that it's not a convertible, this pristine modified Supra could let you live your movie dreams

Well, this is something of a find. While checking used Supra prices, because lunchtime, we stumbled across what claims to be an (almost) exact replica of the ‘10-second car’ driven by Paul Walker’s character Brian in 2001’s The Fast and the Furious.

We’re talking about seriously anal levels of exterior detail. The paint job reportedly cost £10,000, the alloy wheels another £4000, and, much like the car in the genre-defining movie, it’s had a whole heap of cash thrown at overnight parts from Japan. Or maybe just parts. From a car parts store.

Said to produce 605bhp courtesy of a single T88 Greddy turbo (with twin-turbo cylinder head trim) and a HKS ECU, it’s all tuned and balanced with proper air/fuel ratio tuning. Sadly, there’s no mention of functional NOS, but the ‘pigeon mod’ blow-off valve replicates the same noise as the one in the film.

Originally imported to the UK from Japan in 2004, it has less than 42,000 miles on the clock with a recent cambelt change and comprehensive oil seal replacement. It also seems to have had just the one owner in all that time, and looking at the attention to detail, here, you can guarantee it’s been cherished. The advert says it was kept in a heated garage, and we can believe it.

The one very obvious oversight in terms of accuracy is that this is a coupe, where the movie car had the convertible roof. Nor did the latter have a ‘The Fast and the Furious’ sticker in the quarter glass, or an orange steering wheel, but let’s not pick fault.

The condition looks pretty damn fine, especially on the outside. There’s a bit of distress and cracking to the outer bolsters on the black leather driver’s seat, but it’s not the end of the world. It’s a manual, after all, and looks to have been modified the right way.

Sellers R&W Motor Company, in London, have listed this pretty unique Supra for sale at £29,925. That’s rather a lot less than the standard twin-turbo car in Vancouver that we wrote about the other day.

If you had the money spare and this didn’t have to be your daily, would you go for it, or is it just a bit too much?

Sorry to all F&F fans but the car just looks hideous from inside and out

I can’t understand why the owner went to such a degree of replication, spending so much on getting the exterior as accurate as possible, and even the sound matching blow-off valve, and then adding the orange parts to the interior, which were all black in the film.

A replica doesn’t have to be 100% accurate, you know.

But does it run the 1/4 mile in ten seconds?
