This 260WHP Weapon Is Probably The Coolest Honda Del Sol In Existence
With an impressive power output and the JDM 'TransTop' folding roof grafted on, the Del Sol in this episode of The Smoking Tire is one we have mad respect for
The Honda Del Sol isn’t a car that’s ever particularly moved me. Its rounded, cutesy aesthetic is a world away from the boxy CR-X it effectively replaced, but what we’re looking at here is no ordinary Del Sol.
With a rebuilt B-series Honda inline-four hooked up to a Garrett turbocharger, its good for 260WHP. The suspension has been given a track-friendly makeover, and a ‘TransTop’ folding roof from a JDM Del Sol has been grafted on.
The roof adds quite a bit of weight (although its installment helps weigh distribution, according to the owner), but who cares when it looks so cool doing its thing?

I’m like:
Did you just use del sol and cool in the same sentence
will he sell his sol to me (sorry)
How do you think he built it?
Jk
Someone also built a mid-engined Del Sol, which is way cooler imo
True, with V-Tec!
Man, this would be a hoot to drive
I see the del sol as an alternative to a miata, only fwd and more power
AND uglier
No it is not the coolest del sol ever. Someone made a 4wd 450hp twin engine del sol. I think that wins.
I have always had a soft spot for the Honda Del Sol, and this is one good looking example. My grandpa used to take for rides out in his before he passed.
Sorry for your loss man
500lbs worth of targa mechanism…
Calls it a track car
Weight increment bro
Guess you could say he ‘sol’d his ‘sol’ to the devil for this one..
