Believe it or not, one CTzen has left over 26,000 comments this year. I was so stunned by this stat I genuinely had to ask our dev team to double check the figures. Kastriot Kalaba - we salute you, as that mad figure means you’ve been leaving on average 70 comments a day. That’s dedication!

Check out the full top 10 below. If you made it, give yourself a pat on the back.

Most talked about manufacturer

10 Weird And Wonderful Facts About Car Throttle In 2016

It seems we just can’t stop talking about BMW, as once again, the Bavarian manufacturer had more articles written about it by CT hacks over the year than any other car maker.

Porsche is a distant second, with Ford following closely behind in third.

The full top ten list can be seen below:

BMW - 123 articles
Porsche - 91 articles
Ford - 88 articles
Audi - 78 articles
Mercedes Benz - 70 articles
Ferrari - 62 articles
Tesla - 60 articles
Mclaren - 50 articles
Honda - 45 articles
Lamborghini - 45 articles

BMW also had the distinction of being the most popular CT Garage manufacturer, with a staggering 5782 of the things ‘parked’ in our virtual car park 2016.

Here’s the top 10 list:

BMW - 5782
Ford - 5223
Volkswagen - 4073
Mercedes Benz - 3332
Honda - 3243
Toyota - 2938
Nissan - 2806
Mazda - 2628
Chevrolet - 2294
Subaru - 2267

We like making our headlines nice and descriptive here at CT, and that means they can end up rather long from time to time. Here are the longest in 2016:

The Next Honda Civic Type R Has Been Spotted At The ‘Ring And It Looks Just As Mad As The Current One

In a horsepower-heavy year that saw us driving the facelifted Nissan GT-R, a McLaren 650S and an Audi R8 V10 Plus to name but a few, we did still drive a few more modestly powered cars.

The prize for the least powerful car of the year goes to the humble but loveable VW Up I drove a few months ago, with 74bhp available from a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder engine. The most powerful gong goes to the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, which our man Alex was given a drive in before taking his passenger lap of the Nurburgring in the new Chiron. The lucky bastard.

With 1183bhp from its 8.0-litre W16, it has over 1000bhp more power on tap than the little VW, and is nearly 16 times as powerful. Wow.

I expected this honour to go to the Honda Civic Type R prototype news, or perhaps something Grand Tour-related. But no, the most viewed news story on CT in 2016 was actually about the demise of Scion.

189,831 people clicked on the post to read about the not terribly surprising decision by Toyota to cull its yoof oriented brand.

Of course, it was Alex, with…I’ve no idea actually - we lost count.

Those Most Comments counts…I need to sit down and process those numbers.

But seriously, CarThrottle should have its own record book thing for different feats, in addition to the ones listed here. That’d be neat.

This would be awesome. Most upvotes or comments in different communities, quickest post to 100 upvotes, etcetera.

You missed the most popular CT garage manufacturer the “i totally own this car but only have a picture i found on the internet of it” manufacturer aka those who add a car that they definitely do not own but thought was cool into their garage.
