Top 3 excuses from Gran Turismo Fanboys when talking about vacuum clea...engine sounds.

If you are old enough to have witnessed the release of the very first gran turismo game back in 1997 on the PSX, you should know better than the engine sounds haven’t changed that much since then.

There is a big group of fanatics that can’t care less about it, they just love the game and they defend it no matter what (this is probably why they still have these vacuum cleaner engine sounds so keep it up).

So, since I am not emotionally attached to the game, I can enjoy everything (excluding NFS), heck, even Mario kart is enjoyable in terms of fun factor and competitiveness, I will tell you the top 3 excuses i always see in the forums, on the comments section of YouTube, in every place where the topic is discussed.

“Your stereo system sucks, that’s why the engine sounds don’t sound good”

Is this a serious excuse? I am not going to deny, having a 5.1 or 7.2 surround sound system really makes a difference, but not enough to say this is the reason behind why your multi-million dollar game is falling behind since forever with newcomers with less than 1/4 of the experience and the budget to make a racing game.

Yeah, and you are… employee of the month from Polyphony Digital right? Do you work side by side with them to say stuff like this? I have been hearing this excuse since gran turismo 4.

“They will fix it in the next update”

Gran turismo 6 has so many updates; I call it “Gran Update 6”. And still… vacuum cleaner engine sounds…

Despite the Vacuum cleaner, I mean, engine sounds, I admit the game has a great soundtrack (background music, menu music, etc), is that good that i couldnt avoid to download the whole thing, I feel like a sir when hearing these smooth jazz tunes.

PD: Stop hiding the flaws with sad excuses, if you really love a game you have the right to say what its wrong, for example, I love LFS, but I have been waiting for the real S3 since my highschool years (10 years ago) and its about time to update the graphics.

I like forza motorsport, but i hate to pay for DLC, but what i hate the most is that stupid thing of “unicorn” cars.

Nothing is perfect but the older player of the yard is having trouble with something the new blood overcome easily.

They got someone from the Forza sound team to work on the engine sounds, so they will be much better in GT Sport… And no I’m not a fanboy or lying, its just a true fact

Unicorns haven’t been a part of Forza since Horizon. Which was 3 games ago.

Unicorn cars ceased existing in the last Forza Motorsport games on 360. If you still play on 360, ask “Johniwanna” from Turn 10 to send them for you - he’s a nice guy and has helped out a lot of people By sending them ;)

As a GT fanboy, I hate PD for sounds.. Some cars sound great, but some are down terrible. I just hope this new guy from Turn 10 sound team will make them better..

For me it wave been F1 franchise trough out the ‘90s, rfactor, lfs, gtr2, gtr evo/race07, till i got to iRacing some 5-6 years ago and stayed there ever since. After some serious leagues, its nice to settle somewhere where you can race cleanly and not be forced to race on a particular date and time. Great comunity, eventho there are some stuff i’d like to change about it, i believe they have the best package overall
