There isn't an intake kit for my car, so I made this in about 1/2 hour today. I kept part of the original ram air intake and the factory heat shield, and got all parts for less than $60. Intake noise is great, and the turbo flutter is music to my ears.

I’ll put a video up of the noise in the morning when I get a good one.

As long as it is shielded from the engine bay’s hot air. Having a panel filter in a stock air box is a solution aswell, but only if the stock airbox is well designed.

Yeah the airbox is located directly next to the turbo and exhaust manifold (slightly crazy) but the heat shield definitely keeps the pod filter nice and cold. also the ram air intake draws air from under the car and through the grille and shoots it directly at the intake and secondary air pump breather tube (with the smaller blue filter)

yep, 2004 4motion. kept the diverter valve how it was, as far as I could tell it’s only real purpose is to minimize the flutter/pigeon noise, but with the pod filter it’s much more noticeable (in a good way) with probably a couple whp gain if anything. and the noise while boost builds goes from the little whistle to a nice sucking sound.
