One Very Special Abarth 131

You might ask what is special about this car. Well Christian Geistdorfer mounted his seat in the rear of the car. Georgio Pianta tested the seating position at different points in the car and concluded that with the seat mounted in the rear they could set times up to 1 second faster per mile. Percents were not being used at this time so communication was not an issue.This was only carried out at the 1978 RAC rally.

Man I miss when rally was still about experimentation. I guess Walter had a true back seat driver.
