54,000 Lumen 23" #LED Light Bar Review

Now that I’ve had the light bar installed for over a week, I’ve had plenty of time to adjust it and get used to it. What do I think of it? I think that it’s amazingly bright, and even puts my 30,000+ lumens of headlights and driving lights to shame. But don’t just take my word for it, there are plenty of photos below to help you reach your own conclusions.

Installation

Installation is straightforward, for the most part. Wiring the harness and bolting up to the mounting bar were basic and easy steps. Actually adjusting the light bar takes a touch of finesse, due to the level of adjustability afforded by the brackets. This does mean that it can be mounted a lot more cleanly than most bars, as the brackets can be mounted anywhere along the length of the bar and can be tilted up or down to a large degree.

On The Wall

We will start out with some comparisons of the low and high beams against the light bar while facing a wall from approximately twenty five feet away. Low beams are 8,000 lumens, high beams are 16,000 lumens and driving lights are 12,000 lumens. All are LED as well, and are much brighter than stock halogens.

On The Road

Next are some photos from a drive down an unlit road. There is no form of lighting on this road, and I picked a night that was cloudy so that moonlight wouldn’t affect the photos.

As is fairly apparent from the photos, the bar performs much better than its short length would imply due to an excessive amount of lumens. This does of course take up more wattage than a typical light bar, but no more than the majority of modern vehicles would be able to easily supply. With this bar, total white lumens on the front of the Focus is now at over 84,200 lumens.

If you’re wondering why I chose this particular LED light bar, this long paragraph is for you. I wanted a relatively short in length bar, as it was being mounted on a 24 inch long “bull bar”. A full length bar such as those seen on pickup trucks at fifty inches or so would not suit the cosmetic looks I was going for. This was the highest lumen bar that was twenty four inches or below, and is in fact brighter than the vast majority of full length light bars. This bar is also mainly spot beams with a 15° light beam, with only a small portion of 160° flood beams. Most bars have an equal or greater amount of flood beams compared to spot beams, with this one having 36 LED chips for floods and 78 for spots. Being that I already have LED headlights and driving lights that provide plenty of width, this was not meant to improve upon my light width (although it did anyways). This bar is also made with all Cree LED chips, which is a good brand of chips. Most are made with generic brands of chips, which I would be hesitant to trust at this wattage. This light bar also comes with a one year warranty on every aspect of the included contents (bar, wiring harness, power button). The housing is powder coated aluminum with stainless steel hardware, which should hold up very well in all conditions while remaining light weight.

The world can sleep without sunglasses, until you get a pick up with a roof rack :P

I have an Explorer with a roof rack, which just might get a super bright full length bar.

Thought about a roof light bar. Don’t see it happening, but it’s not totally out of the realm of possibilities. Legit neons won’t happen. LoL
