If Cars 3 was real

After seeing a little bit of cars 3, because of some sneaky YouTubers and I’d rather be on my tractor, I’ve decided to make a list about what would happen if cars 3 abided by Real NASCAR Monster energy Cup series rules and regulations.
Disclaimer: I know it’s just a movie but I’m gonna have a little fun dissecting the movie and the sport it’s made after.

1: lightning would have been banned from the sport

This may come to be a shocker to some of you, but according to rules that are implemented in real life there’s always the same generation of car racing together. What this means is an older spec car like lightning McQueen would not have existed when these new next gen cars are introduced. For all you NASCAR fans out there, it would mean an old car like The Car of Tomorrow going up against Today’s Gen 6 cars. Most motorsports also don’t have different generations of cars in the same category or championship. They are evolved when new car design regulations are introduced and car that don’t meet these specifications are banned from competition. meaning older cars (like McQueen) are not allowed to race because they don’t qualify because they are made for older regulations not the new set of regulations.

2: Cruz Ramirez's race switch with lightning McQueen wouldn't be allowed

This occurred in the last race where Cruz Ramirez switch places with lightning McQueen to win the Florida 500. Cruz Ramirez went from the pit wall to a racer for a falling McQueen came in for a pit stop. Lightning stepped down as a racer and Cruz Ramirez took his spot or the race track. Now in NASCAR driver switches are usually done in the same car, but since this is the cars universe to entirely different cars where swapped. Now that is not allowed. Also each car earns championship points to win a championship, but since lightning entered the race himself, where does the points for the race win go? Would it go lightning? No cause he didn’t finish the race. What about Cruz? Also no because she didn’t enter or qualify for the race.

3: no hybrid/electric stock cars

While this one isn’t a role it’s more of an ethical thing for NASCAR. NASCAR is all about stock car racing. Nothing but a V8 engine, gearbox, pedals, power steering, and a driver. What NASCAR doesn’t have are hybrid cars. The “Next Gen” cars in Cars 3 are hybrid V8s. How do I know that? Well they sure do sound like they have a electric motor in the car. I believe NASCAR doesn’t have any plans for adding hybrid cars on the near future of the sport and plan to stick with a “stock car” formula.
