Bid On This Barn-Found Renault 5 Turbo And Live Out Your Group B Rally Dreams

This Renault 5 Gordini Turbo has been given a mid-engine conversion to be like its Group B homologation brother, but it needs some love

With 3576 produced, you're probably more likely to find a mid-engined Renault 5 Turbo for sale than any of the other Group B homologation specials. They're still pretty rare though, and expensive, so maybe this barn-found mid-engine converted Renault 5 is the answer.

Details on the advert are incredibly limited, but it is stated that the car is a Renault 5 Gordini Turbo that started out life as a standard front-engined 5, and was converted to mid-engined, rear-wheel drive layout at some stage. The engine size is listed as 1.4-litres, so we're assuming it's the original engine that's been moved rearwards.

It's prepared for motorsport use, specifically hillclimbing, and comes with a full rollcage plus hydraulic handbrake. It certainly looks like it's seen better days, but apparently the engine has been rebuilt (though no mention of when) and the gearbox is 'working perfectly.'

Fancy a bid? It's on Ebay, and the full advert can be seen here. Don't think you'll be picking it up for next to nothing, though, as at the time of writing it was already up to £5755 with 52 bids and eight days remaining.
