This Is Why Bose's Witchcraft-Spec Suspension Never Became A Thing
That old video of Bose's incredibly flat electromagnetic suspension has done the rounds online plenty of times, but why didn't the system reach production? The guys from CNET explain why, after looking at the incredible technology in action
The last time we saw this technology at work, the question “why are we not funding this?” was posed. The answer is fairly simple: the system was too heavy and too expensive for commercial viability, although elements of the technology were used for the company’s ‘Bose Ride’ seat for truck drivers.

Crazy cool stuff. I mean the car jumps. IT JUMPS. why doesnt have it some really expensive cars like rolls royce? Or as an option for an extra 30k?
The system is too heavy? Well so are cars nowdays. If they are heavy anyway, they could be heavy because of useful stuff like this, at least.
It Handles like cars in video games lol!
Real life ‘boost jump’, video games would have become reality..
Someone is reading Jalopnik…
because böse
how much more does it weigh?
This is whats happens if lowriders were engineers
we need this in vip cars.
the weight wont matter to them the power will compensate.
I don’t think the weight would be all too terrible. The price on the other hand could definitely be a problem. The only think I would worry about is if your electrical system ever failed you’d have no suspension. That could make things interesting.
