Watch In Horror As A Lamborghini Murcielago Is Ripped Apart By Taiwanese Authorities

An apparently illegally imported Murcielago is seen being ripped apart piece by piece by authorities in Taiwan

Details about why this is happening are thin on the ground, but we gather this Murcielago was imported into Taiwan and never registered properly. It was reportedly stopped after being driven without number plates.

We don’t think it’s a genuine SV despite the big graphics splashed down the side, but regardless, it’s heartbreaking to see it ripped apart piece by piece.

If you can stomach the full 14 minutes or so of destruction, you’re made of strong stuff…

Disklok

It’s easier to destroy a Lamborghini, than it is a Disklok.

Murcielagos and other similar vehicles usually have trouble passing the stringent emissions and noise regulations of the Taiwanese DMV. Because of that many grey imports are unable to be registered or issued license plates. For example, importers who bring in Ferraris and Lamborghinis tend to have to do a fair bit of ECU and exhaust tweaks to get it under the legal limits whereas official Ferrari and Lamborghini Taiwan dealerships have no problem. Considering a brand new Huracan costs somewhere in the region of 600,000USD it makes sense that they want to stop people from being able to go to the US to buy a brand new Huracan for a 1/3 of that and just import it themselves. Even with a 100% import tax it is still cheaper than buying from Lamborghini Taiwan.

Have they not heard of car crushers? They could have at least given it a quick death instead of a 30 minute video of someone attempting to operate a small digger with a claw.

this is really dumb. They could have fined the guy and forced him to make it legal by going through the process. Or they could have auctioned it off to someone else or someone outside the country. This is such a huge waste. Shame on people who waste.
