Vauxhall GTC Concept Surfaces Ahead of Paris

The Paris Auto Show is just around the corner, and it has already brought a lot of interesting introductions. Hopefully, it will bring a few surprises too.

The Paris Auto Show is just around the corner, and it has already brought a lot of interesting introductions. Hopefully, it will bring a few surprises too.

Vauxhall can't quite keep a secret though, revealing its GTC Concept entirely ahead of the show. It promises to be a good preview of the next Astra hatchback.

There isn't a whole lot of meaning to the word "concept"  in the GTC Concept's name - minor details, in fact. As such, the GTC Concept isn't groundbreaking or showing off a new design language for Opel.

It continues on with the theme debuted on the current Astra, and it looks quite good in two-door sport hatchback guise.

It has an aggressive stance and nice proportions, showing off similar side detailing and side creases to the Insignia. One thing that probably won't be making it to production is the 21-inch wheels. Too bad.

There are no details on the horsepower figure, but Vauxhall says the GTC Concept has a turbocharged 2.0-liter, direct-injection four-cylinder engine powering the car.

The 2.0-liter works in concert with a six-speed manual and a start/stop system. Interesting combining that with a manual!

The GTC Concept is just about 99% production ready, and we're looking forward to seeing the interior pictures when it makes its debut at the Paris Auto Show.
