True, but then you would need to mention like every 2.0 distributor injection pump Diesel from the 90s/ early 2000s. They are basically all incredibly reliable and many would be running even up to 1 million kilometres if treated well.
K20a2 out of a type r civic.
All the s-chassis particularly the sr20
2 litre Vauxhall so much to for tuning and great for racing

Zetec is way better. Especially if you boost it.
In my opinion is the 4AGE out of the AE86 trueno and levin
Rover k series once the headgasket is replaced with a good one you cant beat the power to weight

B-Series from honda. Things you can do with these engines are unreal. And of course 4G63.
Can’t decide between subaru boxer (can’t remember the code), 4G63, and the SR20DET
