This Is The Rear End Of The New Mid-Engined C8 Chevrolet Corvette
The full reveal of the C8 Corvette is almost upon us. Without confirming what we already know - that itāll be mid-engined - Chevrolet told the world a few weeks ago that the latest version of the sports car would be out on 18 July.
The Internet cares not for official reveal dates, of course, and with over a week to go before the big day, this image has emerged on Instagram. Purportedly, itās of the C8ās rear end.
It certainly seems to match spy shots of the car, so weāre thinking itās legit. It shows a rear fascia that has a clear familial link to the Camaro pony car, which isnāt necessarily a bad thing.
There are no technical details to go with the leaked image, although we are expecting a mix of turbocharged and naturally-aspirated V8s to be used for the C8 range. The sports car has also reportedly been delayed by electrical issues and problems with the frames of the more powerful prototypes twisting under load.
The C8 Corvette will be built at the General Motors Bowling Green plant, where a second shift and 400 jobs have been added to accommodate production.

Not the most graceful rear end, to be honest.
I love the depth it has with the tail lights
When I saw this the first time I actually thought this was a corvette that got rear ended
It looks inbred ngl
the 6th gen camaro called, they want their rear end back:
Was about to say the same, that is pretty identical, just stretched
Honda want their āoverdesigned rear end teamā back in the office
Preferably un-squished
Lambo wants their designers back
It looks like a squished camaro rear
Looks like bad plastic surgery on a Lambo.
If thatās the rear view, PLEASE do not produce the remainder. Plasticky american cars were all the rage when the Trabant was āin vogueā
It definitely has some of the Lamborghini angular and hexagon-ness to the design. Not sure if thatās a good or a bad thing.
Rear end looks like a cut rate Aventador.
probably form over function for everyone worried.
Also this is the design everyone is going for.
