Plan B Hits London In A Focus ST
There's less than one week left to wait until the Flying Squad duo hit the big screen. But we're not interested in whether Ray Winstone and Plan B are good as Regan and Carter, or what the movie reviewers think of the story line. We just care about the four-wheeled stars, the Ford Focus ST being no exception.
Well, it's actually a fake one in the film, but powering the real Ford Focus ST is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder EcoBoost engine that pumps out enough paralympic horses for a 154mph getaway speed; not bad for £22k.
The villains' main weapon is the British and much more attractive answer to the BMW M5 and Mercedes E63. The Jaguar XFR runs a 510bhp supercharged V8 that's good for a 5-0-losing top speed of 174mph; as long as you've ticked the optional Speed Pack, that is...
Ford and JLR have other extras in the Sweeney including the S-Max, the current Mondeo and a man losing his trousers in a Range Rover. There are even some old bangers such as this teal Volvo 850 estate, whose colossal boot is perfect for any well-organised armed robbery. And lest we forget the beautiful Vauxhall Vectra from the nineties.
So there's plenty of twitching for the car fan in this movie as well as a lot of action it seems. If you haven't seen it already, check out the trailer for yourself before it hits cinemas on September 12.
