There aren't many negative things to say about Maserati's luscious-looking 2-door, the GranTurismo.  One of them is that for the price, it's a touch short on power.  It's got a glorious-sounding Ferrari derived 4.7L V8, but it only brings 434 horsepower to the table.  Compared to some of the competition at that price - such as the 638bhp Corvette ZR1 or the 505 horsepower supercharged Jaguar XKR, it's a bit lacking.

What's a power-hungry Maserati owner to do?  Well, renowned German Ferrari tuning firm Novitec might have the answer.  It's called the Tridente, and it entails minor cosmetic modifications (as if they were needed) and a serious shot of power.

Under the hood, Novitec has fitted a centrifugal supercharged and a new exhaust system as well as a remapped ECU, which boosts power from 434 up to a nice, even 600bhp.  They've also fitted adjustable KW coilovers to go with the over-large 20 and 21" hoops, along with a carbon-fibre bodykit because.  Although I could do without the cosmetic modifications, a supercharged 600bhp Maserati sounds pretty good to me.

There isn't a lot more detail than that to be had on the Tridente, but what more do you need to know?  If you have the means, I highly recommend it.
