The Nissan GT-R Is No Match For An Audi R8 V10 Plus In A Straight Line
A few weeks ago, a video showing a Nissan GT-R getting a bit of a drubbing at the hands of an Audi RS6 appeared. Much Internet rage and accusations of fakery followed, but we weren’t all that surprised. Although the GT-R in question didn’t seem quite on form to us, the Nissan’s acceleration figures have always been hard to replicate in the real world, whereas Audi is often quite conservative with its 0-62mph times. Oh, and the RS6 is stupidly quick for a massive estate car.
The guys over at Cars.co.za have cooked up another GT-R vs Audi showdown, this time a more straightforward battle involving an R8 V10 Plus. Again, the Audi wins the day. The GT-R may be quicker on paper, and indeed beats the R8 off the line, but the lighter, more powerful Audi breezes past in the end.
Growing up on a diet of World Rally Championship highlights and lengthy Gran Turismo 2 sessions, a life in cars was as good as inevitable for Matt.

I think that putting a V10 against a V6 it’s pretty useless, the V10 would (and actually does) kick the ass of a V6 car.
Maybe they should compare both TOP models… so if you take the R8 V10 >>PLUS<< so you should also take the GTR >>NISMO<< ;)

Yet another reason why the R35 needs replacing. Fast. Its base price has skyrocketed from $70k in 2008 to $110k (175k for the Nismo) in less than a decade. When it came out, it deserved the hype - this was a car that offered 458 performance for little more than the price of a new M3. But now it gets beaten by almost everything on multiple fronts (some of this may be subjective):
It’s no longer the king. In fact, it gets beaten on almost everything apart from cornering by a family estate. In road tests comparing both the regular GT-R and GT-R Nismo to similar cars (mostly R8, Corvette, 911 and 570S), the GT-R consistently comes last. Now, there is some hope because there are talks of a hybrid R36 supercar costing about $250k and having 775hp, which would make it more of a budget 918. But these rumours cite production dates anywhere between 2016 and 2020, and we’ve still seen zilch so far.
