Recently, Neiman Marcus made an announcement about the selection of the car to make an appearance in the exclusive retailer's annual Neiman Marcus Christmas Book.

Want one? It's too late. Only 50 special edition models were made available. Demand for the XJ seems to be high - the car sold out in only four hours and four minutes since being made available for order by phone on Friday, October 16th.  I'd say that was a pretty quick sell out of a $105,000 car, especially with the current state of the economy. It certainly isn't a record though - in 2006, the BMW M6 sold out it's allotment of 50 units in just one minute and 32 seconds.

The XJ marks Jaguar's third appearance in the catalog. The first was the XKE Touring Coupe, which made an appearance in the catalog in 1968. The second came nearly 30 years later when the XJ8 debuted in 1997.

The special edition XJ gets a Neiman Marcus-exclusive Celestial Black paint job, with navy and ivory leather inside and a matching five-piece luggage set to boot.
